The mecurial nature of comedy

An up and down weekend of comedy and illustrative of the ‘mercurial nature’ (as Bill Bailey describes it) of comedy. On Saturday night I did a gong show at the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and I didn’t find the pace or material to grab the audience, got gonged off. Sunday night was another gong show, this time in Banbury. I felt happy and funny and the material was on the money for the audience. Survived the gong, won the final … given a slot at the Pro night next week. Highs and lows.
