Over the last few weeks I have watch the six episodes that make up the astonishingly good TV drama, River. The IMDB describing it thus,
“John River is a brilliant police inspector whose genius lies side-by-side with the fragility of his mind. He is a man haunted by the murder victims whose cases he must lay to rest”
I loved it. Haunting, beautiful … and with astounding acting and cinematography. Stellan Skarsgard is extraordinary in his portrayal of River. A bleak but hopeful, deeply human story of loss, love, crime and sanity. I was so moved and impacted by each of the episodes, and indeed the story as a whole. This may be the finest piece of TV Drama I have ever seen.
