Adventure Base

Adventure Plus are a dynamic Christian outdoor education charity that work with nearly 5000 young people a year across their camps, mobile activity provision, work with at-risk pupils and training programmes. Their attitude to life, faith and adventure is reflected not just in the activities but in the organisation as a whole …. not least because they have embarked on a £2 million pound project to construct an Adventure Base in Oxfordshire to be able to extend their work and ministry.
Last night I was at the update on where they’d got to …. held at the site that will be the Base from October THIS year! So exiting to see that they have raised £200k of the £500k they need for the first payment due in October …. and thus trigger the point at which they legally take over the site. (The site being Windmill farm where some of the infrastructure like the climbing wall is already in place)
I recommend looking at the plans and vision. This will be such an assert in terms of Christian engagement with young people in Oxfordshire and beyond. It would be great to see more individuals and churches on board with this so see if you can connect in with any of the range of opportunities to help that you’ll find through the website.

I forget which Business Manual talks about an organisation setting a BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) but A+ have certainly done this. However it is such a great plan and God given opportunity as the offer they have been given (in terms of the purchase price and phased payment), the range of possibilities that flow from existing building foot prints, and the presence of woodland, acres of land, buildings, a stream (that can feed a lake) all comes together as an extraordinary set of circumstances.
