Disillusioned

The report into Lance Armstrong from the US Anti-Doping Agency has been shattering, offering virtually irrefutable proof of systematic cheating/lying on a massive scale. I guess it's always upsetting when your heroes fall but to discover that Lance was cheating on such a massive scale over such a long period, and coercing others into doing the same, is truly horrific. But not 'just' the cheating, also bullying, intimidating and attempting to destroy the reputations of anyone who tried to reveal or uncover the truth of what was happening.

I have felt genuinely upset about this ... and bothered/disturbed at quite a deep level.
I also owe a huge apology to those I have vehemently disagreed with when they have suggested, over the years, that Lance was doping.

Heroes fail, I know that,
We're fallible, I know that.

Somehow though this just feels so massive, so cynical that it's hard to take in, especially given the two great autobiographies which turn out to be anything but that; merely a fabricated Lie and an advert for brand 'Lance'
