Here's the plan for supporting workers who are in the Oxford Diocese and in their first Parish Post:
A day a month designed to support and enable parish based work with young people.
Looking at:
• Youth Work Skills and Practice
• Theological Reflection
• Spiritual development
An important function too will be the group supporting each other and providing a forum for exploring the challenges and opportunities of Parish based work.
Venue will be the CMS building (very nice) in Oxford from 10:30 until 3pm
They will cost (a subsidised) £10 per day which will include a cooked meal .... and coffee/tea. Still negotiating on the best day with my current list of potential delegates.

This looks joyfully familiar! Great idea :)
Sarah,
Your sense of Deja Vu is well founded as one of the reasons I am running it is how positively you spoke about it.
If you want to send me any reflections/advice I'd love to read them
BTW, does this mean you are back from the Orient?
Shalom,
Ian
I am indeed back - just trying to get over the jetlag before heading back to work tomorrow! Had an amazing (totally random) chance to chat youthwork with one of the very few youth leaders in the indigenous church. Absolutely incredible to meet someone with the same passion and vision for young people in such a different place. Had amazing discussions about their desire and need to formulate a theology of youthwork and methods for the Chinese culture and to envision the church to the importance of youthwork - and the fact that they want to link and learn with the wider world of youthwork. Not sure what is going to come out of it, but we're staying in touch! Crazy things that God does when you go on holiday!!
I'm not sure what thoughts and reflections I have off the top of my head from Monday Class - but if any occur to me I'll let you know. And I'm happy to ask any questions.
Probably insulting your class a little less than Dave did would be a good start :P Though, he did gain a lot of (wounded) affection from us all through it...
