I have been contacted by someone writing an article on "ageing youth workers!" Me *laughing*
But I need to find a few other post 40 youth workers preferably who are more at the coal face than I am, Is it you?

I have been doing youth ministry for 32 years. 52 year old working full time for youth for christ
Stephen,
That is fantastic, way to go Stephen. Thanks for replying.
I think Jo Swinney may want to ask you about that for an article.

Hi Stephen,
Would you be up for a phone interview today or tomorrow? If you are could you drop me an email with your number and a good time?
Many thanks x
Tis me. I just turned 49 and celebrated 30 years in youth ministry. I did not celebrate the 49.
Way to go Brenda. 30 years Youth Ministry is definitely a cause for celebration!
Thanks for dropping in ... and for giving my ammunition when people try and maintain that youth work/ministry is something that is only for people in their 20's
Shalom
I clocked up 25 years recently if you want to include the RC point of view! Part of the message I give when I visit parishes is that we need cross genbrational contact. One of our best priests for working with young people is now in his late 80s. He was upset a few years ago when they stopped him from going ice-skating!

Hi - I am 48 and have been a full time Youth Minister for 26 years. I am not cool, young, or hip - but I love Jesus, I love the Church, and I love teens. It works.
Dave,
Thoroughly agree about multi generational approach ... my need to be a post in its own right.
Jaymes,
I have been trying to find a wway of putting a 'like' function on the blog .. without suceess sadly. Your comment would definitely warrant a 'Like'
