Now I know how JK Rowling feels

I have a big grin on my face today as I got a royalty cheque from the Grove booklet I co-authored with Ruth Hassall. We sold 850 books in 2007 (contrary to popular rumour my mother didn't buy anywhere near 200 copies) and my half of the royalties is the big fat cheque (below)! The Milky Bars are on me!
OOooops gotta go, my agent is on line 2 ;-)

But what are you going to use for Christmas presents next year??

I bet I can guess what everyone who goes on the indepth retreat is going to get as a freebee, you see, the royalties don't quite covr all your own expenditure.

From little acorns...

First print run of Harry Potter was only 1000 copies (and they go for tens of thousands of pounds now...)

how many lattes will that cover?
well deserved Ian

A friend of mine is an actor and I was round his house when he received a royalty cheque for under £5 for some video sales one year!!

so funny, a co-worker of mine is currently working on a Grove booklet. I must remember to show her this.
