I'm not sure what's changed but the 'add-on' Video-downloader in Firefox doesn't seem to function anymore? This being how I originally borrowed Youtube clips for use in a presentation. But there's more than one way to skin a cat? (British expression, not actually something we tend to do!)
You can open the web page, www.vixy.net and paste in the URL of the video and use the site to convert the video to an avi file. You can use that file or if you want to embed it in a Powerpoint then use Media convert to make it an MPEG1.
Talking of films. I'm putting together a youth weekend around the MATRIX film, anyone got anything useful? (Oh and has anyone got my copy of The Gospel reloaded?)

vixy is good but can be a bit slow, i've been using miro (used to be called democracy) to download youtube etc vids for a while, naturally it's free. they can be played in some media players as they are, or if you want to convert them then a prog called IVC (Internet Video Converter) is freeware and works well to turn them into avi files, for those of us who want everything ppt friendly! I'd reccommend checking out miro.

We did an interactive viewing that involved eating appropriate things... gruel, blue/red jelly beans (painstakingly selected at Woolworths pick n mix!), cookies, etc.

HELP ME!!! Thought it was going to be fairly easy to download a couple of tracks from You Tube for a lesson on Monday (I know, I know, I shouldn't be so last minute) and I can't get it to work. Can someone please help? They are the Dove self esteem video and Dove evolution.... *slightly desperate*

Yea there's a good utility called easy down loader which is free just google it you can copy paste http:// video into easy down loader then your sweet as you can watch your downloaded video
