Rachel and Alisha MacGregor are a dynamic Christian musical team from Kelowna, B.C. Canada. They hail from a musical family and despite their young age have had considerable success in the Canadian and International music industry.
Their desire is to use their music to minister to both Christians and non-Christians alike and have a special passion for Children at Risk. Their first song ever written was entitled Wounded Spirit for Children at Risk and it won the International Songwriting Competition 2003. They have traveled to Thailand to minister in a home for young girls rescued from prostitution. They also traveled to an orphanage in northern Thailand to teach English in a home for children rescued from oppression in Myanmar. They have been involved in school ministries through an organization called Be a Hero and put on presentations at schools encouraging youth to become involved in world issues involving children at risk. In Canada they have ministered at Teen girl conferences through an organization called Courage for Youth (Pure Power). In Canada and the US, they have performed and led worship at Youth conferences, adult conferences, and church services.
As International Songwriting Competition Winners, both Rachel and Alisha have had the opportunity to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston on full scholarships to their summer programs. While at Berklee this past summer, Alisha entered one of her new songs called ‘Wide Awake’ in a songwriting competition and, as a winner, was asked to perform her song to a packed house at the Berklee Performance Center on Massa chutes Avenue. She received another full scholarship for next summer based on that performance. In addition to the Berklee Performance Center, The MacGregors have performed at the Bell Convention Center – Montreal; the Pepsi Coliseum – Quebec City; the Telus Convention Center – Calgary; CMW – Toronto; New Music West – Vancouver to name a few, and recently finished an all expense paid tour through Music BC called “Get Outta town Tour”. In January 2007, they were invited to showcase at NAMM 2007 in LA, USA.
Currently their CD Dark Beauty is being distributed across Canada by CMC Distribution
