'When I laugh
it shatters my day into bits
that I like
and can cope with more easily

When I laugh
my face comes to play and my blues
take a hike
and I see things more feasibly'

The great, sadly no more, goffle band:
Fat n Frantic from the Album, Quirk

I wish that i did that more often,
I wish that i did that more often than i do!

Simo,

Does anyone know all the words to Africa...love it and want to sing it at a fund-raising concert?>

Kate,

I tried replying to you but the e-mail bounced back. I don't have the lyrics sheet as such. Have you got a copy of the track? (it's on the album Quirk). I could lend it to you

hey guys. so i searched for Fat & Frantic lyrics. and i found this one link. cool.

my auntie introduced me to them when i was 11 on holiday in scotland. a friend lent her a tape of them so she taped it for me. i wore the tape out. it's the album Quirk innit. i love it. i lost the photocopy of the lyrics sheet she did for me. but... i searched ebay for months and found a cd copy. yeah!! go me. so uhm. that's my story. i am happy.

"j edgar hoover was a sinister man..." class act man.

i came in search of lyrics but now i'm jsut gonna transcribe them from listening.

peace out

anyone want to sell me their copies of quirk.aggressive sunbathing/wendy craig? I got burgled and can't replace these cds - I am really missing their sounds!! Help?!

This is a probably-too-late reply to Rob - "Does anyone know all the words to Africa...love it and want to sing it at a fund-raising concert?>"...

Generally, I'm unimpressed by protest/anti-war songs; they're invariably very simplistic and come across (to me) as "right-on"ing from people who probably haven't actually delved too deeply into a subject. But even taking into account that theirs is about a rather more obviously single-sided problem, I do like F&Fs Africa...

My 6 year old son is now very much into "Last Night My Wife Hoovered My Head"! I've only got a very old bootleg of Quirk so am on the lookout for some of F&Fs other albums...

Anyway, here's the lyrics (typed in from lyrics sheet so may be a typo or two);

Africa, my beautiful sister and my brother, Africa
Africa, my beautiful sister and my brother, Africa

With your bloated belly, your drumtight skin,
your swollen tongue, dry eyes crying;
and brothers, sleek and fat and white,
are desperately justifying
stealing from my hungry sister,
my starving brother, Africa.
They're stealing from my hungry sister,
my starving brother Africa.

Africa, my beautiful sister and my brother, Africa
Africa, my beautiful sister and my brother, Africa

Africa, they raped you my sister,
they beat you my brother Africa,
Africa, they raped you my sister,
they beat you my brother Africa,
With your beaten back, your broken neck,
your bloody face, your body dying;
you can't detain and whip a whole nation,
but your brothers still aren't sick of trying
to kill the raped and beaten soul
of my sister and my brother, Africa.
They want to kill the raped and beaten soul
of my sister and my brother Africa.

Africa, my beautiful sister and my brother, Africa
Africa, my beautiful sister and my brother, Africa

if anyone can help me to trace a copy or down load of afria or Quirk i would be very greatful. as with many of you i had a copy on tape (over 15 yrs) ago and no longer have it. Ive been searching on and off for years - it would make my 2006 if anyone can help me out.

kind regards

clare

Does anyone have a copy of Africa I could have? I can't find one anywhere... either legally or illegally. I'd like to play it at a charity event I'm hosting next month. I would really really appreciate it if someone could send it to me (magical_mia@hotmail.co.uk). I've got quite a few rare songs and I'd be happy to see if I had anything you needed in return.

Thanks,

Mia

Hey, just introduced my 4 year old to quirk....no longer have my other albums! Best band God graced this planet with!

Damo, my kids love F&F too, I wish the back catalogue was available

Hi!

I've spent the last couple of weeks hunting the net for Fat & Frantic.
I loved them in my uni years.
I had a copy (cassette) of Quirk but unfortunately it seems I've lost it!
And now I find I can't get another copy....

Can anyone help me please, please, please?

Elaine
