Lurkers Entirely Welcome

don't be a stranger.jpg Who actually reads Youthblog? It's an interesting question as I'm not entirely sure. BRAVENET gives me a bit of an idea but only a bit and I'd love more of an idea of who virtually drops in on a regular or semi-regular basis! WELCOME!

I was thrilled to discover via Tall Skinny Kiwi that Paper Napkin had announced a delurking week! A kind of ammnesty opportunity to just say, Hi

Now, 'Lurking' in this context is entirely positive, it refers to all the lovely people who turn up, read the blog and silently disappear without a word or a comment.

delurk2.jpg You are extremely welcome to continue doing this however here is an invitation to leave a comment. You only have to click on "comments" then type in a name/nickname, Put a quote/lyric/thought into the box (no need for e-mail or URL) and press publish! You cannot be traced but I'll know a name, enjoy your quote and smile! Thank you :-)

oh and If you're from a different country you could include that too .... eg 'Jeremy from Iceland'

I check this place out everyday. I can't say that I always understand it, but I read along and nod at appropriate times just to humor Mr. Blog (or Mrs. Blog if that be the case.)

*waves* In the immortal words of Veggietale's Larry: ' "When I was just two years old I left my lips out in the cold and they turned blue. What could I do?" '

*nods* important lesson....

Oh and I come here everyday cos it makes me smile lol.

If a man stands along in a forest and there are no women around to hear him, is he still wrong?

"What, not even Wensleydale?"

Steve working in local government in Hertfordshire and trying to get the council to work with local churches on youth provision. Your site is very thought-provoking especially as I am a lay preacher as well.

not really a lurker... and not really a quote... but... a favourite bit of Goon logic...

Now where will we build this mountain?

I think we should build it in Hyde Park.

Why Hyde Park?

Well, it's handy for the buses and shops.

Hyde, er...yes...Hyde Park...er...ummm....Any objections?

Ohhh yes! If we build this mountain on England, England would sink under the weight.

Sink? In that case, this mountain would be invaluable, people could climb up the side and save themselves from drowning.

Mercy, you're right. Hurry and build it, before we all drown!

I borrowed one of your .jpg files for my blog. I hope that's okay!

Can I have two quotes, please?
1) Nothing is impossible except ski-ing through a revolving door, and
2) No single raindrop believes itself to be responsible for the flood.

Hope I'm not too late to crawl out of the lurkers closet...yeah I come on here a couple of times a week, partly for stuff to think about, partly because it's great to know some adults do have a view of youth where we're not completely reviled and feared! Thanks very much :)

Posted by: Emily R at January 19, 2006 11:13 AM

Oh yeah, and I think my favourite quote is probably, 'Aarrrggggghhhhh, Pressure Pressure Pressure Pressure PRESSURE' taken from the Zutons CD.

My lurking is about normal. About 2 or 3 times a week. (Almost a Fawlty Towers quote)

The early bird may catch the worm... but it's the second mouse that gets the cheese! ;-)

Keep blogging! Reading your comments and sharing the good and the bad makes me realise that no youth worker is perfect; things go wrong no matter how hard you try and when they do it's not just because I'm useless, it happens to everyone!
